If you’re aged 55 or over, come and explore the exciting blend of dance and motion capture technology with local dance company, Katie Dale-Everett Dance. This immersive workshop is a fantastic opportunity for creative play, learning, and connection.

WHAT’S IN STORE

  • Performance and Q&A: Enjoy a captivating performance of ‘Playscape: How to Build a Galaxy’, followed by a Q&A session. This unique dance and motion capture performance has been touring to theatres and community spaces, inspiring audiences of all ages.

  • Introduction to Motion Capture: Get hands-on with the basics of motion capture technology, discovering how it brings movement to life in new and surprising ways.

  • Step into a Motion Capture Suit: Experience the thrill of wearing a motion capture suit and explore the imaginative worlds that the dancers journey through during the performance (each dancer will be allocated a 20 min slot to experience working with the suit).

  • Create Your Own Work: Work alongside KDE Dance and other workshop participants to develop your own creative piece using motion capture technology, blending dance, digital imagery, and your own ideas.

Katie Dale-Everett is an interdisciplinary choreographer and creative producer who develops opportunities for young people, women over the age of 50 and communities who face barriers to accessing dance and the wider arts.

She is the Artistic Director of Katie Dale-Everett Dance, where she makes choreographic work with technology for unconventional theatre spaces, Movement & Dance Sussex CIC, a not-for-profit organisation developing creative and cultural partnerships, and Co-Artistic Director with her sister Rebecca Dale-Everett of Kabecca Films, creating dance on film and outreach programmes to share the stories of women aged 50 and above.

Katie Dale-Everett Dance is a Sussex based dance company committed to community engagement, education, and artistic excellence. We work with technology and dance to bring communities together to explore playfulness and to question the world around us. Working across schools, homeless shelthers, libraries and youth centres our work creates space for people to try new things, build new relationships and escape the everyday. Supporters of our work include Arts Council England National Lottery funding, the British Council, Manchester City of Literature and Studio Wayne McGregor.
